前面提到了怎样开通Hostgator主机的ssh功能，自然很多国内站长朋友都会想着利用SSH 的加密隧道作为Socks Proxy上国外的网站，例如Youtube.com, facebook.com, twitter.com等，但实际上是不行的，根据Hostgator的官方解答，Hostgator的虚拟主机不允许Socks转发，我试了几次得到的错误都是：Forwarded connection refused by server: Administratively prohibited [open failed]。 只有独立服务器才能使用这个功能。
其他的主机Justhost，bluehost，hostmonster倒是没有这样的限制。
